Worksheet

When Excel is first opened:
• Across the top of the screen you will see File Edit View, etc. this is the menu
  
• On the next line are is the tool bar where commonly used tools are pictured and can be used with a single click
• The next line is the edit line - indicates where we are in the spreadsheet and what is in each cell

Below all this is the Worksheet:


The worksheet is composed of cells. Each cell is designated with a letter and a number. The letters indicate which column the cell is, and the numbers indicate which row. A small portion of the worksheet is shown below with the cell name in the cell itself.

Moving from cell to cell can be done in two ways

1. Use the arrow keys to move, cell by cell, left, right up or down 2. Use the mouse and click inside the cell of choice.
